What are your tips in elevating Japanese recipes at home?
I’m currently in Japan on my 3rd trip here. I’m from the US. A big reason I’ve come multiple times is because of the food. I like to check out top-ranked restaurants on Tabelog, RamenDB, etc.
I’m aware of the basic Japanese recipes that can be found easily online. Do you guys have any tips and tricks on elevating my Japanese cooking at home to help me get closer to these top-ranked restaurants? My favorite Japanese foods are tonkatsu, tempura/tendon, oyakodon, gyudon, udon, omurice, etc. I’m a big ramen fan as well, but I frequent r/ramen and have gotten great information there.
